Fashion empire OrotonGroup has released a teaser of its latest venture.

The group has revealed its latest bet – the iconic Brooks Brothers label – has joined forces with The Woolmark Company to deliver its debut collection which will drop on Australian shores next month.

The label, which boasts a195-year heritage as an international retailer, was acquired by OrotonGroup in August 2013 and will roll out via select David Jones stores nationally from February.

Commenting on the launch of its first range for Australia, the company said its alliance with The Woolmark Company has delivered stellar results.

“Brooks Brothers are proudly working with The Woolmark Company, working all the way through the manufacturing chain, right through to the Australian woolgrower, ensuring the wool quality from start to finish is perfect for our apparel and accessories.”

The first drop of the menswear collection featured in David Jones will feature a selection of wool and wool blend items and aims to offers a wide variety of staple pieces, such as sweaters, trousers and suits, as well as new fashion additions to round out the collection.

The debut range takes inspiration from “the artists, intellectuals and jet-setters who from the 1920’s to 1950’s found themselves equally at home whether in Connecticut or Cote d’Azure”.

Brooks Brothers currently operates over 500 stores worldwide and has also confirmed that it will boost its network with a flagship store in the Sydney CDB in the middle of 2014, along with an additional own retail presence in Melbourne.

Commenting on its local rollout, Brooks Brothers general manager of Asia Pacific Andy Lew said Australia offers a new opportunity for growth for the Brooks Brothers brand.

“Australia provides a very unique opportunity for Brooks Brothers, growth in the retail market continues throughout the country and we look forward to working with OrotonGroup to take the brand from strength to strength, providing gentleman and ladies with a style unlike any other available in the Australian market to date, from America’s oldest retailer,” he said.

David Jones group executive merchandise Donna Player said the company is honored to take part in the brand's local debut.

“David Jones is proud to be the department store partner of Brooks Brothers and to play a pivotal role in the launch of this distinguished brand. Our customers know and love this brand and will be delighted to be able to access it locally,” she said.

Established in 1818, the introduction of menswear with David Jones is the first step for the Brooks Brothers brand in Australia by joint venture partners OrotonGroup.
