Australian fashion consumers love op shopping - and now there's new research into their habits.
The results of a research project commissioned into this area will be released at this year's National Op Shop Week.
In 2012 alone, over 300,000 tonnes of clothing and household goods were donated via charity op shops and collection bins.
Each year, around 2 billion donated items are processed and sorted by charity recyclers.
Op Shop Week founder Jon Dee will reveal why and how Australians donate garments at the event launch.
National Op Shop Week will be launched by Margie Abbott on August 23, with Red Cross, Salvos Stores and Vinnies among some of the leading charity shops involved this year.
Stay tuned for details on the research findings.
