Have you ever wondered what happens to jewellery seized by the Sheriff's Office?
Some pieces get auctioned off online to the highest bidder.
Digital auction platform Grays Online is set to begin the auction of a range of rare pieces this weekend, including luxury watches and jewellery from the NSW Sheriff's Office.
Included in the upcoming auction is a rare Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Rainbow Watch which sells new for over $400,000, as well as a range of Cartier, Gucci, Hermès and Tiffany & Co jewellery.
"These types of seized asset sales come around as rarely as you might see the listed items," Grays said in a statement.
"The bidding for most of these items starts for pocket change, $9.
"This is a rare opportunity [for customers to get their] hands on exceptional-quality pieces of jewellery."
The combined total lot value is $1 million and the auction is run under instruction of the NSW Sheriff's Office.
