A new platform, dedicated to showcasing the best of Australia's fashion design talent, has launched on a global scale.

Lovage Magazine, an online-based fashion publication which aims to showcase a variety of both up-and-coming and established designers, has launched this month with editor Laura Bray at the helm.

Former stylist Bray, will be assisted by publisher, Garry Evans, with the magazine set to release new issues globally every four months, following its first edition debut this month.

Content will include in-house editorials as well as submitted works, written pieces, trend pages and interviews with renowned members of the industry.

The debut issue also includes interviews with the designers of local label Kahlo, Kym Ellery and stylist Monica Morales; in addition to fashion shots in collaboration with 'The Topknotter' blogger Brooke Lazarus.

As well as featuring a large womenswear section, Lovage Magazine will also feature menswear pieces, both written and visual.

Commenting on the launch of the new magazine, Bray said the concept for Lovage Magazine was born from a visible gap in the market, consumer demand and opportunity.

“The idea to launch Lovage came after a close friend of mine decided to launch their own publishing house. After struggling to move forward in the industry we decided it would be an idea to just test the waters,” she said.

“After starting the online blog and seeing what a great response we had, we decided to go ahead. There is a gap in the market for something purely online and advert free and we're filling it. The team have all had experience in the industry through interning for other magazines and our own personal blogs, so we felt we had the skills and Harbour Publishing gave us the machine to drive it.

“Everything is moving online. Fashion blogs are becoming trusted sources for news as well as personable content. We're surfing the online wave at the moment and we're all really excited to see how the online market both globally and in Australia is growing.”
