A new arrival is set to reinvigorate the Melbourne retail arena.
December will mark the official launch of Spencer Outlet Centre, the newest addition to Melbourne’s retail offering.
The revamped centre is expected to bring with it a fresh approach to discount shopping through a new retail concept fresh to the CBD.
The new precinct will see the entry of several big brands exclusively to Melbourne’s CBD, and to Spencer Outlet Centre, in a new mini major retail concept.
Cotton On Mega Store, Harris Scarfe and Trade Secret will join other retailers across the gross leasable area (GLA) of approximately 27,000 square metres, with over 100 stores trading in total.
The Harris Scarfe store at the Spencer Outlet Centre will mark the retailer's first and only store in the CBD.
The Cotton On Mega Store also is expected to be a popular shopping attraction across a wide range of age groups, with the store set to stock the original Cotton On brand, as well as Cotton On Body, Cotton On Kids and Rubi Shoes.
Having undergone previous incarnations, reinvigoration plans for the new look Spencer Outlet Centre began in March 2013 following the appointment of Retpro Group as managers of the centre in November 2012.
Commenting on the impending launch, Retpro Group managing director, Graham Terry said the precinct will enhance the city's retail landscape.
“Spencer Outlet Centre’s reinvigorated offering is a direct response to Melbourne’s CBD and Docklands growth. Local workers and residents will be provided with an enriched shopping experience that provides not only breadth but also worthwhile savings,” he said.
A VIP shopping event on December 5 will mark a welcome for the mini major additions to the centre, as well as the strengthened Spencer Outlet Centre brand. The launch will incorporate in-centre entertainment and activities, and retail discount offers.
