New Zealand apparel group Hallenstein Glasson is braced for new management as ex-Jag GM Tracy Shaw prepares to take the helm.
The company, which late last year flagged a drop in sales, will see Shaw take her place next month as its new chief executive officer. Shaw will be tasked with running the Glassons group of women’s fashion stores.
Current Hallenstein Glasson CEO Graeme Popplewell confirmed to ragtrader.com.au this morning that Shaw will begin her role officially from early February this year.
He also confirmed recently that the appointment had followed an exhaustive international search for the right person and that Glassons would benefit from Shaw’s extensive global expertise and her product focus.
“We are delighted with Tracy’s appointment and are confident she will enhance Glassons’ ability to respond quickly to changes in product directions and to implement new initiatives to ensure we continue to provide fast, affordable fashion.
"Her comprehensive experience in women’s apparel will be invaluable to Glassons as we continue to develop and our refine our offering.”
Shaw will be responsible for Glassons’ operations in New Zealand and Australia, totalling 64 stores.
UK-born Shaw has an impressive retail pedigree, with her most recent post as general manager of Jag in Melbourne where she spearheaded the brand's relaunch.
As well as Australia, her international roles include significant experience in leading fashion apparel in the UK and for Edgars Group, South Africa’s largest fashion retail company.
