A new fashion event is set for Australian shores next year, with a line-up of global speakers from the luxury business and fashion world, locked in to attend.
The luxury business and fashion summit will be the first event of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region, and will be held at the Sydney Opera House on May 16, 2013.
The summit will be curated and hosted by Australian Financial Review Magazine’s international fashion editor, Marion Hume.
Focused on a theme of creative collaboration, speakers will provide insight on a range of global industry issues and trends whilst also examining the impacts on the local Asia-Pacific region.
Commenting on the event, Financial Review Group CEO Brett Clegg said the company is looking forward to hosting The Australian Financial Review Magazine summit.
“AFR Magazine pioneered reporting on luxury brands and was an early trend observer, a theme that continues today under the leadership of esteemed editor Jeni Porter,” he said.
“The summit will engage the best Australian and international business leaders and provide attendees with insight into the business of luxury including business intelligence from a global perspective, but more importantly, from a regional Asia-Pacific perspective.”
Hume added that the event was part of the natural next step for AFR Magazine.
“Set in one of the most spectacular buildings on earth, this event is a new kind of business and fashion summit focused on the concept of creative collaboration – reaching across disciplines to see what is possible in this still-new unfettered universe of digital age.
“Building on the two coveted fashion issues per year, the summit will be a natural evolution for AFR Magazine in creating an interactive platform for readers and business,” she said.
More details about the summit and speaker line-up, as well as ticketing information, is expected to be available from early 2013.
