Westfield Miranda, one of the largest redevelopments for Scentre Group will celebrate the official opening today.
With joint venture partner DEXUS Wholesale Property Fund (DWPF), the $475million redevelopment has transformed one of Sydney’s oldest shopping centres into a world-class, digitally enabled retail, entertainment and dining destination.
Westfield Miranda is now home to over 500 of the best retailers, 100 of which are new to the centre since the redevelopment commenced in June 2013.
The face of Westfield Miranda, Cheyenne Tozzi joined Scentre Group CEO, Peter Allen and DEXUS Property Group (DEXUS) CEO, Darren Steinberg to officially open the centre and welcome an impressive line-up of premium Australian designers, international and high-street fashion brands.
Today’s celebrations follow the opening of the market-style fresh food precinct in October.
The new fashion and beauty retailers now open include GAP, Zimmerman, Sass & Bide, Willow, Laura Ashley, Seed, Dior Perfume and Beauty Boutique, Mecca Cosmetica, MAC and more.
These new retailers join fully refurbished David Jones and Myer department stores and upgraded flagship stores from Country Road, Witchery, Peter Alexander and Oroton.
A host of other retailers will open from now through to mid-2015 including international fast fashion giant, Topshop and Topman, with more international retailers soon to be announced.
Scentre Group CEO, Peter Allen said the redevelopment delivers a truly innovative retail environment, designed with the local community in mind.
"The new Westfield Miranda signifies the next generation of shopping centres in Australia.
"The mix of fashion retail, authentic market-style fresh food, entertainment spaces and outdoor dining together with digital innovations such as ticketless parking, digital projections, entertainment screens and free WiFi will undoubtedly appeal to the local market.
"Situated in the heart of the Shire, Westfield Miranda services over 550,000 people in one of the most affluent areas in Australia. We are proud to deliver a shopping centre that pushes the boundaries in terms of design, architecture and retail mix. Westfield Miranda is the blueprint for our future redevelopments."
