Macy's, Bloomingdales and Asos have a new foothold in the Australian market.

The global giants are just three of the latest retailers to partner with emerging fashion retail tool MiiBrand, a website and mobile app assisting fashion retailers to build an audience on local shores.

The platform allows users to select their favourite fashion brands and then receive notifications on the latest offers, and also includes a feature to easily shop collections and products from a personalised brand feed.

Launched in July last year, Miibrand was initially designed to help bricks-and-mortar retailers drive store traffic by using geo-location capability to deliver offers and specials as people walk past stores.

The service has since become one of the leading Australian iPhone applications, accessed by nearly 40,000 members to date and has recently bolstered its appeal, adding online-only brands including international heavyweights Macy’s, Bloomingdales and Asos.

MiiBrand has also recently welcomed e-commerce stores The Iconic, The Mens Shop and StrawberryNET, and is proving to be a popular way for brands stretch beyond traditional mediums such as email and SMS, according to co-founder Ben Howden.

“Development of our product is very much driven by consumer demand”, he said.

“If MiiBrand members want to shop online from international retailer’s then that’s what we’ll give them. On the other hand, if they want to shop locally from bricks-and-mortar stores then we’ll help them do that too.”

The latest additions to the MiiBrand network will join over 40 well-known fashion brands already using the platform including Sportsgirl, Bonds, Witchery, Bardot, Saba, Adidas, Diesel, and French Connection.
