Luxury giant Net-A-Porter has further strengthened its position in the Australian market.
The fashion etailer has launched a dedicated website and distribution centre in Hong Kong, to further streamline its ties to Australia and the greater Asia-Pacific region.
The new additions will enable express delivery timing to the region by approximately one day and result in more cost-effective shipping prices from Hong Kong, Australia, China, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, New Zealand, India, Indonesia, Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
Customers will also now have the option to shop in their preferred currency including Hong Kong, Australian and US dollars.
Commenting on the move, managing director Alison Loehnis said the advances are part of a larger global strategy in the works, with further plans for the Australian market also.
“There’s much more in the pipeline and our plans include the integration of additional payment gateways for customers in China as well as a same day delivery service in Hong Kong and next day shipping service to major cities in Australia and China.”
Expanding it's Asian influence, the Net-A-Porter has revealed it will also translate the majority of its region-specific websites into Mandarin, French and German allowing users to easily browse and shop from over 350 designers.
Current labels sold on-site include: Alexander McQueen, Chloé, Dolce & Gabbana, Isabel Marant, Jimmy Choo, Miu Miu, Stella McCartney and Valentino.
To support the multi-lingual website and distribution centre launch, Net-A-Porter has also bolstered its Mandarin, Cantonese, French and German-speaking customer care teams in order to offer “unparalleled service”.
“Net-A-Porter has been a global business since launch in 2000, committed to providing women everywhere with the best luxury fashion offering, the most engaging, shoppable content and, importantly, superior customer service.
“We’ve continued to experience strong growth, particularly internationally, and place an ever-increasing importance on speaking to our visitors in their own language as a way of elevating the user experience,” Loehnis added.
“We started by recruiting a multi-lingual customer care team who spoke 22 languages between them before developing local language websites and launching a third distribution centre. These developments represent a great technological and logistical feat for the Net-A-Porter team and are just some of the ways we’re continuing to make shopping with us even better.”
Net-A-Porter was launched in June 2000 and has since successfully established itself as one of the world’s premier luxury online fashion retailers. Net-A-Porter now currently offers express worldwide shipping to 170 countries in total.
