Myer has signed a multi-year agreement with Australia Post, in a bid to accelerate online orders.
The 3PL arrangement is part of a 'Factory to Customer' initiative, aimed at creating a more efficient and streamlined supply chain for eCommerce sales.
The move comes as eCommerce revenue soars during COVID-19 lockdowns.
The partnership will also provide extra capacity to support online growth, particularly during peak trading periods, with more than 90,000 products to be housed at the 26,000sqm Australia Post facility.
Located at Annandale Road in Tullamarine (Victoria), the facility has close links to the airport and key road networks.
The agreement, which covers an initial three-year period with a two-year extension, will commence from September 2020.
The arrangements will supplement Myer’s existing online operations, which operate via its stores and distribution centres and includes Click & Collect and home delivery options.
Myer CEO John King said it is an important step forward.
“This partnership with Australia Post as our eCommerce fulfilment partner, represents an important next step in our Customer First plan to deliver products to customers in the quickest and most effective way, as we continue scaling our online business during the next few years."
