Myer has appointed a new group general manager of marketing.
Tara Lordsmith will assume the position in mid-January 2015.
Lordsmith has been running her own growth consultancy since leaving food vendor Simplot after ten years in 2013.
She will report to Myer chief merchandise and marketing officer Daniel Bracken.
Bracken said Lordsmith is a valuable addition to the team.
"Her considerable brand strategy and consumer insights experience will add significant strength to our marketing team."
Lordsmith will focus on building on Myer's recently introduced brand position, omni-channel solutions and overseeing advertising, media buying, brand management, visual merchandise, digital, events and public relations.
