Myer has launched its fundraising campaign for national charity The Pyjama Foundation.
From today (April 04), $5 from every sale of the specially designed Pyjama Foundation x Myer pyjamas will be donated to the Foundation, to support its work with children in care.
Across Australia, there are more than 45,000 children in out of home care and currently the Foundation is only able to reach 1,100.
According to the Foundation, 35% of Year 9 students in foster care do not achieve the national minimum standard for spelling, one in three don't meet the national standard for reading, while 40% don't meet minimum standards for numeracy.
The Pyjama Foundation CEO and founder Bronwyn Sheehan OAM said Myer's support will help the organisation extend its impact.
"Each year our campaign continues to expand its reach, and with the support of Myer in 2022, it's incredibly exciting to envisage how many more lives we can impact.
"Last year, despite the impacts of COVID-19 lockdowns, we had our most successful campaign ever with more than 300,000 passionate supporters across the country getting involved," she said.
The Pyjama Foundation aims to improve the learning outcomes for children in out of home care through its Love of Learning Program delivered by Pyjama Angels – vetted community volunteers who work with kids in out of home care.
Pyjama Angels are matched with a child in care and spend just one hour a week focusing on learning-based activities.

The Pyjama Foundation x Myer pyjama set is available online and in Myer's 59 stores nationally.
The sets are available for men, women and kids and retail from $25 to $49.95.
National Pyjama Day is celebrated on July 22 2022.
