A brand new, world-class Myer store has opened its doors today as part of a $400 million centre redevelopment.
Myer is among the anchor stores for Westfield Garden City Shopping Centre in Brisbane, Queensland.
Thousands of customers are expected to visit the new 12,000 square metre two-level full offer store today.
The face of Myer Jennifer Hawkins will officially open the Myer Mt Gravatt store on Saturday 11 October.
Myer CEO Bernie Brookes said there was already a great level of anticipation for the opening of the new store.
"The store is the first in Queensland to offer ‘The Hub’, which provides a range of in-store services such as Click and Collect, gift registry, Wi Fi, and iPads to browse our online range, all in the one convenient location.
"There are also in-store iPads with a customised Myer app for customers to browse and purchase from a significantly expanded range of products from any Myer store.
Myer Mt Gravatt store manager Milton Wallace said many of the brands that customers will find are only available at Myer.
"The opening of the new Myer store in Mt Gravatt marks the pinnacle of my 24 year career with Myer.
"We have been fortunate to employ almost 100 new local team members and they are busy being inducted with skills to provide world-class service.
A range of in-store activations have been scheduled to mark the official opening on October 11.
These include fashion parades showcasing the latest spring summer trends, a live DJ spinning the latest tunes, kids cupcake decorating, face painting, balloon giveaways, appearances by Australian rugby player Quade Cooper plus popular children’s characters including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Lalaloopsy and My Little Pony.
