Department store Myer is preparing to break a decade long spell north of the border.
The company will host its first full runway show in Queensland in more than ten years, as part of the 2012 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane, hosted by Treasury Casino and Hotel.
The SS13 showcase will be a stand-alone event featuring its stable of Australian designers.
Confirmed designer brands include Sass & Bide, Jayson Brunsdon, Wayne Cooper, Toni Maticevski and Arthur Galan AG.
Festival director Lindsay Bennett said the department store had long been a supporter of the consumer event, taking its involvement this year to the next level.
Myer group general manager of marketing and brand development Megan Foster said it was a natural evolution.
"We have been involved with the Fashion Festival for many years and have seen improved results year after year."
She said last year's Myer Fashion Luncheon had proved to be a "huge" success with the upcoming ticketed evening runway show set to accommodate 600 guests.
The showcase will be held on August 26 at 6.30pm, with tickets at $46 along with an early bird special for purchases before June 30.
The broader festival will host nine group shows across multiple product categories, involving brands such as Scanlan & Theodore, Easton Pearson, Lisa Ho, Sacha Drake, Pia du Pradal and Camilla.
Other highlights include seminars, salon shows, graduate showcases, retail and designer studio tours and parties.
