Myer has been announced as a finalist for Retail Advertising Campaign of the Year at the World Retail Awards.

The department store was recognised for its ‘Colour of Summer’ spring/summer 2013 advertising campaign.

Myer won Store Design of the Year in 2011 for the redevelopment of its flagship store Myer Melbourne.

Myer Group general manager marketing and brand development Megan Foster said the company was delighted to be a finalist again.

“We are delighted that the great work of the Myer team and our advertising agency, Badjar Ogilvy, has been recognised on the world stage with this award nomination.

"The Myer spring/summer campaign allowed us to connect with our customers in a new and meaningful way."

The ‘Colour of Summer’ campaign was a partnership between Myer and The South African Tourism Authority.

It was shot on location at the Pilansberg Reserve in South Africa, an ode to the eight million Australians travelling overseas each year.

Other finalists for the Retail Advertising Campaign of the Year include international retailers Aldi, Debenhams, Tesco, Tops Liquor Stores and Worten.

The winners of the World Retail Awards will be announced in October at the World Retail Congress in Paris.
