Myer has launched its latest campaign, Australia Lives Here, celebrating the department store's history in Australia by showcasing items sold between 1900 and 2000.

The retailer has curated a list of 100 items sold within stores over the past 100 years, which have shaped Australian lives or brought about significant moments of societal change in Australia.

To complete the campaign, Myer is reaching out to customers to help locate the remaining 30 items that have yet to be included in the list.

Myer has asked Australians who have these items to submit their story at myer.com.au, with successful applicants offered the chance to win the 2017 equivalent of the product.

Products range from the first Prue Acton dress to the first-generation iPhone.

These products will be featured online at myer.com.au and at Myer’s Bourke Street store from August 8 - September 15.

Myer executive GM brand, marketing and loyalty Michael Scott said the initiative would give Myer customers a rare opportunity to be a part of a unique, national campaign.

“Every Australian has a Myer story to share. For my family, it was always a special occasion heading in to town from country Victoria for a shopping experience at Myer, and those memories and products have stuck with me over the years.

"Through Australia Lives Here, we are keen to hear from our customers on how these iconic products have played a role in their lives. This campaign and exhibition celebrates the beautiful stories that Australians have to share and documents the rich history of our country.”
