Department store Myer has upped its loyalty deal with Virgin Australia, now allowing Velocity Frequent Flyer members to redeem points at all 56 Myer store locations, as well as via Myer’s online website.
This comes three years after Virgin and Myer first teamed up to offer loyalty deals to their customer base, initially focused online.
Velocity members will need to present a QR code in-store via the Velocity app to pay with Velocity Points. Customers can choose to use just points or use ‘Points + Pay’.
Myer One members will continue to earn loyalty credits on any Velocity points redemption.
“We’re aiming to grow the Myer One ecosystem to deliver more value to our members and expand our reach,” Myer chief customer officer Geoff Ikin said. “Deepening our relationship with Velocity is part of that, and we’re really proud that we’re able to bring this option for customers to pay with Velocity Points in-store to life.
“It’s something our members have been wanting, and it comes at a time when we know all consumers are looking for value more than ever before.”
Velocity Frequent Flyer CEO Nick Rohrlach said extending this partnership to include Myer in-store will bring further value to customers. “This expansion gives our members more opportunities to access the brands they love without stretching the household budget,” he said.
Myer One has over 4.6 million active members, with 804,000 new customer applications coming through in FY25 as of May 29.
As for Velocity Frequent Flyer, approximately 900,000 new members joined the program in FY25 while active members grew by 12 per cent.
