Further management changes will take place at one of New Zealand's largest department stores, The Warehouse Group.
After a string of senior role shifts at the company this year, director Robert Challinor has now announced his retirement.
After 15 years in this role Challinor, who was chairman of the audit committee for nearly all of his term as a director, will step down from the board after the conclusion of the 2011 annual meeting of shareholders in November.
Chairman Graham Evans said Challinor oversaw the implementation of a number of major changes in financial reporting and contributed 'significantly' to the company achieving the highest standards of corporate governance.
“Rob’s commercial and technical skills will be greatly missed,” Evans said.
“On behalf of the board, management and shareholders I would like to acknowledge and thank Rob for his significant contribution to the development of the company over many years.”
Challinor has been a member of the board since 1996.
As reported on Ragtrader.com.au, independent director Mark Callaghan resigned in July, Ted van Arkel was appointed as an independent director of the company and the group's founder Stephen Tindall also appointed Robert Tindall to be his alternate director.
This year the group also welcomed Mark Powell as new chief executive, replacing Ian Morrice and also saw Graham Evans, a director at The Warehouse Group, move into the role of chairman on May 2, replacing Keith Smith.
