New Zealand womenswear brand Moochi has officially launched into the Australian market, launching a dedicated e-commerce platform and rolling out its first 2026 collection, Palette One: Construct.
According to Moochi, this launch across the ditch follows years of steady demand from Australian customers, many of whom discovered the brand while visiting New Zealand and continued purchasing via Moochi’s New Zealand online store.
The new Australia-specific site forms part of a broader plan of international expansion, serving as a pilot that may inform future growth into other markets such as the United States and the United Kingdom.
Founded 25 years ago, Moochi has traditionally built its success through its retail footprint of 13 stores across New Zealand. The brand sells its products through its owned channels, with prices sitting in the low-to-mid three-figure range.
The Australian strategy is expected to follow the same approach. This includes brick-and-mortar, concessions and partnerships once customer insight and demand are established.
“Australia is our nearest and dearest market, but we enter it with humility,” Australian marketing and business manager, Morgan Taylor said. “While New Zealand and Australia share similarities, we respect that they are very different. This launch is about listening, learning and ensuring we meet the Australian customer where she is.”
Founded in a small coastal town in New Zealand, Moochi continues to be design-led, with its design team hand-sketching thousands of concepts, all informed by weekly customer and retail feedback. The brand has 120 employees across 13 stores and a head office, with some of production occurring locally in New Zealand.
