Australian-born undergarment brand Modibodi is calling on young people under the age of 18 to draw up undergarment designs for a new upcoming range.

Called ‘Design a pair, get a pair’, the campaign competition is asking youths to draw up a design of what ‘period power’ means to them.

The campaign competition is open now, and closes April 30, with the first 300 entrants (100 per region: AU & NZ, UK, EU) receiving a code to redeem a free pair from Modibodi. Three winning entrants will be chosen.

Modibodi noted that no previous design knowledge, fashion qualifications or knowledge of how to use complex graphics programs are required.

It added that the aim of the competition is to empower young people to break down taboos and stigmas around menstruation

Entrants can enter via the Modibodi website from the first of April, and their designs will be showcased across the brand’s social media channels.

The winning entrants will be selected by a panel, which includes Modibodi design and innovation director Charissa Lanham.

“We want to empower and inspire young menstruators to design their dream print for a pair of period pants so that they can join us in breaking the silence around periods,” Lanham said.

“We aren’t looking for fashion experts, we just want honest, inspirational prints from young people who want their experiences of menstruation to be seen.”

The winning designs will be produced and available on Modibodi’s website from November 2023.
