Luxury leather goods brand A-esque is set to expand into Lane Crawford.
The Melbourne-based brand is operated by Amanda Briskin-Rettig, founder of Mimco.
The first of three capsules for Lane Crawford has commenced rolling out, with product ranges created in consultation with the retailer.
The capsules include a self-colour applique story, nick-named ‘animation’ by the Lane Crawford team, alongside small pipe trimmed container bags in off-beat colour combinations.
The international coup coincides with local growth, with the brand opening two concessions at department store David Jones and working on a bespoke range for cult Melbourne boutique Le Louvre.
Briskin-Rettig said the expansion marks an important shift for the brand.
"The inclusion of A-esque into Lane Crawford, David Jones and Le Louvre are each an ambition I’ve held for the brand since inception.
"The dynamic style and approach possessed by each of these locally and internationally renowned high-end stores is an important landscape to be a part of.
"The investment and belief in brand development and representation of brand character within the environments is so strong that I felt each of these alignments was the right move for A-esque.”
Having previously partnered with Hermes in 2012, the A-esque collaboration for Le Louvre introduces two exclusive styles, a star applique clutch and the sporty styled ‘handler’ leather duffle with the option of bubble font initials.
Following suit is David Jones, opening two concessions in flagship stores Market Street Sydney and Bourke Street Melbourne.
The expansion signifies the first time the brand is taking its personalisation service The Initial’s Bureau beyond its own stores, forming part of the offering to each new retailer as well as online at a-esque.com.
The service will see orders custom made, by hand, from A-esque's Melbourne atelier.
