Jacquie Naylor will step down from the Michael Hill board, effective April 8, 2024.

Naylor originally joined the board as a non-executive director in July 2020. She is also still currently on the boards of department store chain Myer, New Zealand-based apparel business Cambridge Clothing Company, as well as Melbourne-based fashion brand Husk which she has been with for 17 years.

She has also held director roles at Melbourne Fashion Festival, Macpac, The PAS Group (now Brand Collective), and Just Group.

In a statement, Michael Hill thanked Jacquie for her contribution to the jewellery business.

“Jacquie joined the Board in 2020 as a highly regarded Australian retail leader with over 30 years’ experience in retail, fashion and eCommerce,” chair Rob Fyfe said.

“This experience has been invaluable to the Company during Jaquie’s time on the Board. We thank Jacquie for her contribution over the past four years and wish her all the very best for her future endeavours.”

Michael Hill has commenced the search for a replacement director to join the board.

Naylor's exit comes two months after Michael Hill revealed it had let go of some senior management roles as it faces elevated costs of gold, diamonds and “aggressive” retail trading conditions. This reportedly added annualised savings for the business of up to $4 million.
