New Zealand jewellery chain Michael Hill International has boosted its board for 2014 with a new director.
The company today confirmed the appointment of Robert Ian Fyfe as a non-executive director of Michael Hill International Limited.
Fyfe is currently executive chairman of New Zealand merino wool clothing company Icebreaker and a board director of Antarctica New Zealand.
Fyfe has also previously served as CEO of Air New Zealand between 2005 and 2012, a period that saw a resurgence in Air New Zealand to become one of the most recognised and awarded airlines in the world and one of the best financial performers in a tough industry.
During his time as Air New Zealand CEO, Fyfe also served as chairman of Star Alliance, the largest global airline alliance, encompassing 28 airlines. He was also on the Board of Governors of IATA; the International Air Transport Association.
Prior to joining Air New Zealand, Fyfe had an international business career and worked across a variety of sectors such as television, banking and telecommunications in the U.K., Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.
