Australian retailer Metalicus is set for a design revival, starting with the debut of a designer collaboration.
Womenswear designer Yeojin Bae has created an exclusive capsule collection for autumn/winter 2014.
The collaboration follows the recent appointment of new creative director Peter Naughton.
Metalicus by Yeojin Bae marks a pivotal change in the brand’s direction.
The 20 piece range features clean, soft shapes with fully fashioned knitwear designed to sit off the shoulder.
Detailing includes subtle ribbing, contrast mesh panels and tailored ponti.
Neutral shades are offset with golden yellow, taupe and red while looped woollen scarves, slouchy beanies and a textured wrap jacket complete range.
Naughton said Bae is a perfect fit for the brand.
"Her ability to marry fashion with wearability to create pieces that are flattering and elegant aligns well with Metalicus’ size-free and ageless philosophy and made her the perfect choice for this exciting new project”.
Bae and Naughton first met ten years ago as young designers and have remained close friends ever since.
“Metalicus by Yeojin Bae is an expression of my own favourite pieces, the weekend essential items I couldn’t live without” Bae sai.
“I wanted to create a capsule of streamlined pieces which I titled 'Off Duty'."
Metalicus by Yeojin Bae is now available through Myer and select Metalicus boutiques nationally as well as the brand’s e-store.
The pieces range from $59.95 for basic tees and singlets to $249.95 for key dresses and soft tailored anchor styles.
