Molesworth joins chief executive officer Caroline (Ralph) Ralphsmith and chief operating officer Dierdre McGuane, rounding off the festival’s executive team.

The new role will focus on brand, marketing, customer and partnership strategies at PMFF.

Molesworth has held prior executive marketing roles, including marketing director at Frank Green, head of PR, partnerships and events at Mecca Brands and senior communications agency roles at MCMPR and Cassette, covering local and global brands including Zimmermann, Loewe, Net-a-Porter, Bassike, Gary Bigeni, Country Road, Powerhouse Museum and Sydney Design Festival.

According to PMFF, the new role and appointment comes as the festival plans for opportunity and growth ahead, with new key focuses on customer experience, entertainment, accessibility and value at all touchpoints.

“We are very excited to welcome Clare to the team,” Ralphsmith said. “She brings extensive omni-channel marketing experience, keen creative eye, deeply commercial mindset and fresh injection of energy, all of which is essential in propelling the festival forward.”

Molesworth said she plans to showcase and support Australian fashion in her new role.

“As a former Sydneysider who pledged their allegiance to Melbourne 10 years ago, my aim is to amplify PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival nationally and globally.”

Plans for PMFF in 2024 is already underway following its 2023 event programme which saw over 100 different events across 60 venues in 10 days. This included the Premium Runway Series returning to the Royal Exhibition Building.
