Ragtrader.com.au reveals an exclusive preview of Kym Ellery's latest collection before its debut today at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia (MBFWA).
Ellery revisits the core DNA of her eponymous label for summer, with a collection incorporating shimmer tweed, raw edges, subtle flares, architectural silhouettes and tailored pieces.
The film 'Buffalo '66' directed by Vincent Gallo provided inspiration for the 'Renegade' range, and the aim to create pieces that span time.
Its influence can also be seen through the collection’s colour palette. Two black-based floral stories are prominent throughout the collection, with dresses and jackets a key feature.
Ellery has also introduced a soft draping into the range this season, to mix with the label's staple architectural silhouettes.
Embellishments include fine, hand-sewn diamantes in a rope design, matte sequins hand-sewn onto a fine mesh from Switzerland, and fine ostrich feathers which have been used in one of the hero pieces.
