Finnish design house Marimekko will open its fifth Australian store next month.
The site will be located in the newly expanded Chadstone Shopping Centre, in Melbourne, Victoria.
Marimekko president Tiina Alahuhta-Kasko said the opening follows a period of growth.
"For the last few years we have been strengthening our presence in Australia through our own store network and online store, and opening a new store in Chadstone Shopping Center complements our presence in Melbourne and offers a great opportunity to reach our Australian friends even better.
"Our brand fits especially well together with the other quality brands present at Chadstone both in the areas of fashion and home decoration."
Opening with the latest Fall /Winter 2016 collection the Chadstone store will display ready-to-wear, home products as well as bags, accessories and jewellery.
It will also be the first store in Australia to represent Marimekko’s newest store design concept.
The latest store concept, which revolves around creating a Marimekko “home” using a variety of worlds and atmospheres, will help create an even more inspiring and fluid experience for the customers.
“The store takes customers into different home spaces and worlds, and gives them ideas for their everyday moments and needs," Alahuhta-Kasko said.
"The store architecture reflects Finnish aesthetics and design traditions as well as the timeless and enduring values behind these. The concept has been designed by the international Pentagram design agency, which has designed stores for clients including Margaret Howell, COS, Christian Louboutin and Alexander McQueen."
