Fashion retailer Marcs has launched its interactive micro site Marcs StreetView in a bid to crowdsource social media content from its customers across Australia.

Integrated into Google Maps, the site allows users to browse Instagram photos uploaded in real time using the hashtag #MarcsStreetView in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

In addition the brand has also enlisted a range of bloggers and content curators to get on board including Zanita Whittington (Zanita.com), Jess Dempsey (WhatWouldKarlDo.com) and ModernAlchemy.co author Jai Stevens.

Marcs creative director Nadia Jones believes that the launch of the micro site will set out to map fashion and lifestyle hubs to inspire its customers.

“Here at Marcs we recognise that a person’s lifestyle and choice of fashion go hand in hand.

“By creating StreetView we want users to be taken on a unique journey through some of Australia’s most stylish hotspots.

“StreetView acts as a place for the public to leave their stamp of approval.

“If you take a great photo of a place you love, hashtag it #MarcsStreetView and tag the location you become a part of this peer lead life and style guide.

“It’s a fresh way to discover the best restaurants, bars, or cafes in an area as well as helping share and inform the latest fashion trends, art works and personality of these places.”

The site is now live and is searchable via its hashtag on Instagram.
