Technical luxury apparel brand Kit and Ace has officially confirmed two store locations in Australia.

146 Greville Street in Prahan, Melbourne and 276 Devonshire Street in Surry Hills, Sydney will play host to the brand, which launched in Vancouver last July.

The brand aims to offer garments made from proprietary fabrics such as machine-washable cashmere.

It has also set out to take a unique approach to store design, using locally sourced elements inspired by each of its locations.

Kit and Ace brand director JJ Wilson said that this approach could drive innovative retail.

“We're expanding and testing new markets and with each one we keep in mind how the location will speak to our brand.

“Kit and Ace is redefining the traditional retail landscape with each new shop.

“Anyone can display clothes in a shop, but it's not as common to offer a distinctive experience that captures the entire brand so well.”

The brand's creative director Shannon Wilson believes that Australia is a natural fit for the brand.

“Australia has really become a second home to us and it's also where we began developing our technical fabrics.

“We've connected with the culture and find that the locals live the full-contact lifestyle that we design for – this a good place for us to be.”

Since its launch last year, it has rolled out seven stores in North America including New York and San Francisco.

Kit and Ace aims to open 50 stores around the world by the end of 2015.
