Canadian retailer Kit and Ace has opened a new store in Sydney, marking its fourth national opening in five weeks.

The latest store is positioned in Surry Hills, spanning just over 150 square meters.

Kit and Ace is an apparel and retail brand founded by Shannon and J.J. Wilson, the wife and son of Lululemon founder Chip Wilson.

The Vancouver-‐based retailer designs and develops technical luxury apparel made from proprietary fabrics like machine‐washable cashmere.

The expansion into Australia is in line with Kit and Ace’s steady growth plans.

The company launched its first location in Vancouver, B.C. in July 2014 and has since opened six more doors across North America, including New York and San Francisco.

JJ Wilson said the newest opening is in line with the brand's vision.

"We’re expanding and testing new markets, and with each one we keep in mind how the location will speak to our brand.

"Surry Hills has the creative components we look for in a neighbourhood.

"Art, design, innovation – its all here."

Each Kit and Ace shop incorporates locally sourced art inspired by the market.

The Surry Hills walls feature an Iconic Photograph “Ici et La,” taken by Lux Externa and artwork by Miranda Lorikeet – the first artist to appear on The Wall (an in-shop exhibition space).

Other carefully crafted details include Feature Lights designed by Vincent Buret and a Supper Club table created by Tomek Archer.

Kit and Ace is projecting to open 50 shops worldwide by the end of 2015.
