Australian sportswear brand LSKD was crowned the Business of the Year at the 2024 Telstra Best of Business Awards.
LSKD is headquartered in Loganholme, Queensland, and has an overseas base of operations in San Diego, California. It is planning to open its 10th store in March this year, with another expected to open on May 4.
The retailer was founded by CEO Jason Daniel in 2007.
An additional six businesses were recognised as national winners across the seven award categories.
Each of these were selected from more than 22,000 nominations of small and medium-sized businesses nationwide.
The national winners were awarded following an extensive judging process, which included in-depth interviews with senior business leaders such as Small Business Australia director Bill Lang, MindTribes CEO Div Pillay, and Cochlear CEO and President Dig Howitt.
“In speaking to the judges, it was clear that LSKD is committed to the fitness community it serves, fostering an inclusive and high performing culture that comes through in the quality of its products,” Telstra Business group executive Amanda Hutton said. “We’re thrilled to see and support the team’s continued growth.”
Meanwhile, South Australian recycling and manufacturing business Transmutation, which makes bags, belts, clothing, jewellery, and homewares, won the Embracing Innovation Award.
Other business winners include infant formula company Mumamoo, education organisation Evolve Communities, ear cleaning clinic Earworx, Indigenous-led business Eather Group, and Lyka Pet Food.
