Australian activewear brand Lorna Jane has announced it will now expand into New Zealand (NZ), as part of its ongoing goal to become a global brand.
Lorna Jane New Zealand will focus on a new hybrid sales model that will see the brand generate a greater emphasis on online and mobile sales.
Noting a decline in the demand for bricks-and-mortar, and continued growth from online, the company will use the NZ market as the testing ground for its new sales model.
A distribution and logistics centre location in Auckland has been confirmed, with the company looking to officially launch in NZ in early 2018.
Lorna Jane CEO Bill Clarkson said the brand was shipping over 5000 orders a month to NZ, demonstrating a major opportunity for the brand.
"We believe New Zealand is the ideal opportunity to build this direct to customer model. We want to cut out the noise and create a completely seamless experience."
