An Australian start-up is on track to emulate luxury giant Net-A-Porter.
New online site La Promenade has launched with an aim to become “like a niche version of Net-A-Porter”, according to owner Elba Mingon.
The site is a new online store offering luxurious European hosiery sourced from from labels in Italy, Spain and France, such as Giradi, Sarah Borgi and Pierre Mantoux.
Commenting on its launch, Elba – who has previously worked with brands such as JAG and Country Road – said she has a big vision for the site.
“I want La Promenade to be the go-to for the best boutique European hosiery brands (like a niche version of Net-A-Porter)”, she said.
“The brands that I choose must meet strict criteria in terms of quality, style and fashion focus”.
Further to the focus on women’s items, La Promenade will also offer a selection of men’s socks and children’s pantyhose that cannot be found in Australia.
The company added that the hosiery on display at La Promenade is made by the some of the same manufactures that produce hosiery for Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, DKNY, H&M, and Prada, they manufacture, market and retail under their own banner and also for these high end companies.
“Their product can be found in boutiques and department stores like BHV, Coin, Galeries Lafayette, H&M, La Rinascente, Le Bon Marché, Printemps, and UPIM to name but a few found in Italy and France.
“The goal is to be able to provide the same quality and styles available to the Europeans and this I believe I have achieved and will continue to expand the range and add to the manufacture base.”
