A raft of power players, including David Briskin, Yeojin Bae and Marc Worth of Stylus Media Group (UK), have been confirmed to participate as part of the L'Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF) Business Event Series.
LMFF, scheduled to run from March 18 to 24, will incorporate a series of business related events during this time, with a Business Seminar, Marketing Breakfast, and Fashion Industry Forums locked in as part of the festival program.
The Business Seminar, featuring an expanded program for 2013, will facilitate a discussion on the intersection between business and creative, and fostering creative and innovative teams, products and services.
Keynote speakers include Marc Worth of Stylus Media Group (UK), Ron Pompei of PompeiAD (USA) and internationally celebrated fashion illustrator Bil Donovan (USA).
A panel discussion focusing on social curation will also form part of the Business Seminar, featuring Emily Bidwell of Etsy (USA), Hilary Pertson of Lyst (USA), Quyhn Mai of Moving Image & Content (USA) and Simon Goodrich of Portable TV (AUS).
A marketing breakfast, hosted by Quyhn Mai of Moving Image & Content (USA) and Peter Williams of Deloitte (AUS), will also see the duo provide their perspective on emerging opportunities and critical developments in digital marketing for fashion, beauty and retail.
Specific topics span:
-
The next big thing in the online driven marketplace
-
Creating magnetic digital content that connects with the consumer
-
Fostering a two-way conversation with the empowered consumer
-
Developing compelling digital content that works both creatively and commercially
-
Utilising film as a marketing tool
Fashion Industry Forums, designed to stimulate discussion in the industry, will also feature as part of the LMFF Business Event Series, and will be split into three key categories:
-
The Designer Universe – Industry experts including David Briskin, Yeojin Bae, Kelvin Harries, David Botta and Al Weekes provide designers with insights into both, the critical knowledge required by Australian fashion businesses and the designers and professionals that should be a part of every designer's circle of influence;
-
The Fashion Media Landscape Transformation – Digital technology has transformed how media is created, distributed, shared and displayed. A panel of fashion media experts will discuss the implications of these changes on the fashion industry and provide advice on how Australian beauty and retails businesses can not only weather the storm but embrace the emerging market;
-
The Wool Renaissance – Australian merino wool is in high demand on the global luxury market. Increasingly, designers are incorporating wool into their collections, and textile manufacturers are utilising new technologies and applying innovative finishes to further enhance the fibre's inherent properties. Wool's long-held but newly recognised eco-credentials have also helped to strengthen its popularity.
Organisers of the festival have also confirmed that networking opportunities at this year's event will also be improved with a restructured program, seating and registration system.
In addition, the festival will also offer a ticketing bundle for $635 that provides access to the five events within the series.
