L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival has forged ahead with its 2013 schedule, amid rumours of a potential date change to avoid a clash with Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia.
Industry rumours continue to suggest the festival will shift from its traditional March date, after Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia (MBFWA) organisers moved their event forward two months.
Melbourne festival organisers have this week issued a call for expressions of interest for its 2013 Cultural Program, an initiative which extends the event beyond runway presentations and business seminars.
In calling for submissions from designers, artists and curators to take part, organisers said it was an opportunity to present fashion-inspired works to the public "during the month of March each year".
However, organisers have yet to comment on dates for the 2013 schedule.
The Cultural Program will encompass the following activation categories: open studios, in-store, online, lectures, forums, exhibitions, classes, demonstrations, children's activities, fashion film and sustainable fashion.
Applications to take part can be made here with submissions closing December 14, 2012.
