A pioneering green fashion apparel company from LA will be arriving in Australia and New Zealand early next year.
Australian fashion distributors MMMC, who brought the likes of Hudson Jeans, Hello Skinny and Black Orchid to the nations' shores, has just secured a deal with American-based Groceries Apparel.
Located in the arts district of downtown LA, the manufacturer, distributor and wholesaler of men's and women's fashion is an eco-friendly company.
It only uses certified organic ingredients, is wholly committed to chemical free and renewable sourced textiles and is constantly integrating new, greener practices into sourcing and manufacturing processes.
From recycled vintage denim to California-grown organic cotton, the 100 per cent made in LA business has a range of ready-to-wear clothing from tank-tops and T-shirts to dresses, shorts and V-necks.
General manager for sales and marketing at MMMC, Joseph Borchan, said traditionally MMMC deal with high-end premium boutiques, however the addition of Groceries Apparel now opens the door to new retail partnerships.
“This is amazing for retail in Australia and New Zealand as it affords the boutiques a new green and affordable option,” Borchan said. “With the vertical expansion of brands like American Apparel in this market, Groceries allows independently operated boutiques the opportunity to carry a brand that is exclusive to them.”
MMMC met with bosses at Groceries Apparel on a recent trip to LA and negotiated a three year deal that gives them exclusive rights for Australia and New Zealand.
The range will launch through MMMC in February and prices for T-shirts start at $49, from $69 for dresses and from $69 for shorts.
Paris Texas and The Candy Store in Surry Hills and Footage in Darlinghurst, Sydney, are among many boutiques to secure the range so far.
