Kmart has furthered its sustainable apparel mission with the release of its new autumn/winter collection.

The range features a puffer jacket filled with 100% recycled polyester made from reclaimed materials.

Additionally, the collection includes women’s knits containing viscose fibres made using wood pulp sourced from responsibly managed forests.

According to Kmart, the pulp is economically converted into fibres using less water compared to traditional methods.

The range also includes organic cotton innerwear and a new sneaker collection for men, women and kids made with recycled materials.

Kmart GM of apparel and design Julie Miller Sensini welcomed the AW21 launch.

"As a large retailer, we know we have a responsibility to care for and respect our planet and all the lives that we touch.

"We take this responsibility very seriously and our ‘Better Together’ program focuses on working with our partners to make a difference across a wide range of initiatives, from ethical sourcing and human rights, to packaging and circular design.

"We are proud to continuously improve on this promise.

"This collection is a true testament to the work our in-house design and buying team have done in evolving our handwriting so our Kmart-loving community can shop great quality styles they can trust won’t hurt the planet and without compromising on price," she said.

The collection features a natural colour palette and is comprised of staple pieces with which customers can build a wardrobe from.

To celebrate the launch, Kmart will again deliver its forth free online Masterclass series for customers to stream on April 27 from 7.30pm.
