Discount department store Kmart will expand its plus-size offering next month, with the roll out of its 'Big Blokes' range.

Big Blokes will initially drop in 35 stores nationwide and offer sizes 5XL to 7XL.

This will add to the current menswear offering of up to 4XL.

Big Blokes will maintain Kmart's value proposition, with the highest priced item a leather-look jacket at $39 and the lowest at $6 for tees.

The women's offer, which caters to sizes 18 - 26, is set at $29 and below with t-shirts starting at $7.

Kmart apparel general manger Andre Reich said designers had worked closely with buying teams to deliver "on-trend" plus-size fashion to stores.

“At Kmart we understand and celebrate that our customers are diverse, and believe being budget conscious should not mean having to sacrifice fashionability.

"For this reason, our designers ensure that our plus collections mirror the seasonal trends found in our youth and core adult ranges across mens and womenswear."
