Australian designer label Kit X has signed on technology platform Rntr to power its ‘KitXChange’ resell program in a bid to scale towards circular commerce as a growth channel.
Kit X customers can sell or buy second-hand Kit X products directly on the brand’s website.
“KitXChange was part of my vision from day one,” Kit X founder Kit Willow said. “The program was launched 12 months ago, and we quickly realised that to service the increasing demand and scale further, we needed an expert third-party resale partner to ensure the best experience for our community.
“We excel at making consciously sourced luxurious garments that stand the test of time, that people love, built with truly considered materials - that's our role in the ecosystem.
“But we need specialists to help us scale this circular commerce solution which is to re-home and extend the life and love of a Kit X purchase.”
An official launch event was held last week to mark the collaboration, with Kit Willow, Wardrobe Crisis podcast founder Clare Press and Rntr founder Shanya Suppasiritad.
"The only way re-commerce can become a real solution on a larger scale in the fashion industry is if fashion brands and retailers can participate and benefit directly from the economy,” Suppasiritad said.
“Brands need to achieve growth with less product and continue to engage with their community beyond one-time purchases."
