Kathmandu has revealed some top-selling items throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking to Ragtrader, Kathmandu revealed that for Rip Curl, wetsuits have been a top seller, while in the Kathmandu business, puffer jackets maintained their popularity.

Interestingly, at the early stage of lockdown, Kathmandu saw spikes in sleeping mats, which the business speculates was because consumers were trying to buy something similar to a yoga mat while those were sold out.

The sales come as the business witnessed a 2.5 to 3x growth in online sales during the COVID-19 period.

Speaking on the digital growth Kathmandu Group CEO Xavier Simonet said that the investments the business has made in its online channel have paid off.

"Our customers are clearly seeking products to support their active outdoor lifestyles, while coping with the social restrictions imposed by this global health crisis.

"The digital infrastructure and supply chain investments we have made over the last three years have underpinned our ability to rapidly ramp up online trading capabilities and distribution capacity in the face of unprecedented online demand," he said.
