KMD Brands has reported sales growth across Rip Curl and Kathmandu in the third quarter of FY23, with the company expecting a winter sales boom for Kathmandu.

Rip Curl recorded year-on-year (YoY) sales growth of 7.9% in Q3 (ending April 30), with year-to-date (YTD) sales up 15%.

Kathmandu YoY sales were up 11.3% in Q3, with 36% growth YTD sales. Total group YoY sales in Q3 grew by 15.6%, with YTD sales up 27.7%.

KMD’s Oboz footwear subsidiary recorded a 120.3% growth in YoY sales in Q3, with 122.7% growth in YTD sales.

The fashion and lifestyle group reported that its gross margin remained resilient through the quarter.

“We are pleased to report that Rip Curl, Kathmandu, and Oboz have achieved another quarter of year-on-year sales growth,” CEO and managing director Michael Daly said. “We now begin our key Kathmandu winter and Northern Hemisphere summer trading periods.

“The Group is well positioned to benefit from the return of international travel and tourism and is continuing to invest in the long-term international expansion of our brands.”
