Outdoor apparel retailer Kathmandu is expecting positive growth for its full year FY2016 earnings.
The company has estimated that its EBIT (earnings before interest and tax) will fall in the range of $49-$53 million up from $33.2 million last year.
In addition its NPAT (net profit after tax) will surge between $32-$35 million from $20.4 million last financial year.
Kathmandu's year-to-sate same store sales growth has also increased 2.6% on a constant currency basis.
The retailer's CEO Xavier Simonet said that results are strong amid a delayed start to winter for Australian retailers.
“Despite the winter season starting late this year, product newness and careful management of promotional activity have resulted in a better than expected gross margin.
"This combined with continued realisation of cost efficiencies has contributed to an improved FY2016 outcome.”
Kathmandu's final FY2016 results are still dependent on trading during July and will be confirmed in August.
The retailer previously experienced profit slides in 2014.
