Australian brand operator and distributor Concept Brands has secured exclusive ANZ distribution rights for Kate Spade and DKNY sleepwear through a new partnership with Komar, a global manufacturer and supplier of sleepwear.
This marks the first commercial launch of Kate Spade sleepwear in Australia and New Zealand and the return of DKNY sleepwear to the market after approximately 15 years.
Tapestry is the overarching company behind Kate Spade, with the business running the brand’s local operations of selling handbags, shoes and a small selection of clothing. Tapestry also manages Coach globally.
The distribution of Kate Spade and DKNY sleepwear in Australia began in July, with the SS26 collections already available online through Myer and The Iconic.
AW26 collections are due to launch at the start of September, followed by a curated rollout across specialty intimates and fashion retailers in Australia and New Zealand.
The partnership expands Concept Brands' sleepwear and intimates portfolio, which currently includes licences with the likes of Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren and several other brands.
“Kate Spade and DKNY are globally recognised brands, but our focus is not simply on making them widely available,” Concept Brands product specialist and marketing lead Estelle Puleston said. “It is about establishing the right distribution, protecting the positioning of each brand and building sustainable demand across the ANZ market.
“We see significant potential for both collections and will build distribution selectively across the channels and retail partners that best fit each brand.”
The new additions continue Concept Brands' expansion as an ANZ brand operator, following recent distribution partnerships across intimate apparel, swimwear, sleepwear and lifestyle categories, including Passionata, Natori and Adidas underwear.
