SurfStitch MD Justin Hillberg has announced that he will step down from his role at Alquemie Group at the end of this week.
In an internal email seen by Ragtrader, the MD stated that while it was a difficult decision to exit, now is the right time for him to leave as the business is in a good position, backed by a strong executive team focused on growth.
Hillberg spent eight years at SurfStitch in positions including merchandise manager, general manager and director, working to become MD.
In his time at the eTailer, Hillberg oversaw the introduction of the three year strategy to restructure the business, which included key goals such as gross margin expansion, improve the financial discipline, improve the operating leverage and improve the focus on people and culture.
More recently, he oversaw SurfStitch's launch of its first shopping app, its partnership with General Pants, as well as its expansion into the booming beauty industry.
Hillberg's last day will be December 3 2021.
Alquemie Group is the parent company of SurfStitch.
