Sydney designer Johanna Johnson has capitalised on a celebrity coup which saw sales boom last year, with a presence at this year's Academy Awards.
After dressing Mad Men actress Christina Hendricks at the 2011 Emmy Awards, Johnson saw garment sales more than double within the first 24 hours of the event.
Within minutes, the bridal and couture designer also recorded her first online sale from press coverage.
This year, Bridesmaids actress Maya Rudolph selected a plum Johanna Johnson dress for the 84th Annual Academy Awards.
Created in 'Claret' Italian silk wool, the garment was hand beaded with Swarovski stones and vintage set beads.
The custom-design also includes delicate jewelled capped sleeves and a feature back with a full sweeping godet train.
Actress Jennifer Westfeldt, wife of Mad Men actor Jon Hamm, also secured a custom-made gown made from 'Imperial Violet' silk velvet.
It features encrusted Swarovski hand beaded detailing at the waist and a full train.
Johnson first made headlines last year after dressing Hendricks in a satin figure-hugging dress, which featured hand beaded Swarovski stones, glass and vintage beads.
Johnson operates a boutique in Sydney's Paddington district, as well as an online store. All garments are designed and hand finished in Australia.
