Luxury watch and jewellery maker Chopard has opened its latest Australian store in Chadstone Shopping Centre, Melbourne.
It adds to over 10 physical spaces for the brand in the Australian market, including stockists at Heinemann in Sydney Airport, as well as Monard and The Hour Glass. Chopard also manages a standalone store in Sydney CBD.
Chopard has hundreds of stockists and stores across all key continents, including North and South America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
The brand’s latest watches have a price range between $13,000 and $180,000, with jewellery in similar price points.
Chopard’s new store in Chadstone spans eight metres in width and four metres in height. The store is naturally illuminated by the shopping centre’s glass-domed roof.
Chopard is owned by the Scheufele family, with the store design vision said to be a home away from home for the family.
A bespoke Murano glass chandelier by Barovier & Toso – a Venetian glassmaking company – is a centrepiece of the store. The chandelier, also featured in other Chopard boutiques, is composed of individually hand-blown elements to reflect light.
The store also includes custom furnishings upholstered in exclusive fabrics designed by Rubelli, a Venetian textile house. The store will stock a curated collection, including Happy Diamonds and Alpine Eagle, to L.U.C and Haute Joaillerie.
The Melbourne location is the first in the Oceania region to reflect the Maison’s latest boutique design concept.
“The opening of our new boutique in Melbourne is a proud moment for Chopard and a meaningful step in the ongoing journey of our family-run company,” Chopard co-president Karl-Friedrich Scheufele said. “At the heart of Chopard lies a deep respect for craftsmanship and the exceptional skills of our artisans.
“Our Maison places great importance on preserving these traditional techniques to ensure that the art of fine watchmaking and high jewellery continues to thrive.
“This new space in Chadstone allows us to share that legacy with our Australian clientele.”
