Denim retailer Jeanswest has teamed with Australian labels White Suede, This is Genevieve, Gorman, and Aurelio Costarella to launch the first Jeanswest Charity Tote Collection.

The range, which will see all four labels design a limited edition print canvas bag, is part of the annual Jeanswest Designer Charity Collection and will be sold exclusively in Jeanswest stores from Monday October 10 as well as online.

Each designer tote will retail for $19.99, with a $5 donation from every tote sold to be donated directly to the Cancer Council for Pink Ribbon Day in support of breast cancer research, education programs and support services for those affected by breast cancer.

Since launching their first Designer Charity Tee Collection in 2005, Jeanswest has collaborated with several local designers to raise money for cancer research in Australia, however, Jeanswest PR & retail marketing executive Natalie Stretton said this year, the brand decided it was time to branch out into accessories.

“The project is now in its seventh consecutive year so we felt it was time to evolve the project,” she said.

“The canvas totes are a great go everywhere essential and show the designs well. We have fans that come back each year to snap up the designer pieces so it was important to keep them excited about the project.”

Looking ahead, Stretton said Jeanswest will continue to develop its Jeanswest Designer Charity Collection, with plans to significantly boost the project further via designer and celebrity collaborations.

“Jeanswest has become an integral partner over the many years generating in excess of $460,000 since the projects inception and helping to extend the message through our store base,” Stretton said.

“We want to continue to drive funds to support those affected by breast cancer.  There have been discussions around partnering with high profile international designers to local celebrities.  Stay tuned!”
