Jeanswest is set to launch its capsule menswear collection 'Homespun' in selected stores this month.
The 100% Australian designed and made collection will feature a full range of denim jeans, cotton t-shirts, fleece sweaters, merino wool beanies, scarves, socks, leather belts and suede desert boots.
The retailer has been working closely with Ethical Clothing Australia (ECA) that has awarded Jeanswest with accreditation for the collection.
ECA accreditation manager Rebekka Carey-Smith said that the body will continue on in its partnership with Jeanswest.
"Ethical Clothing Australia (ECA) is thrilled to have worked with Jeanswest on their new Homespun capsule collection, which sees Jeanswest exploring local manufacturing opportunities and embracing supply chain transparency.
“We congratulate them on this exciting new initiative and look forward to both sharing and celebrating this positive story."
Jeanswest general manager of product Adam Lloyd said that the decision to design and manufacture locally is partly due to growing consumer demand.
“More and more we know our customers want transparency around where our collections are made.
“We are on a constant journey to continue to improve and develop our levels of traceability and Homespun is another step in the right direction for us.
“Our job is certainly not done, however we have a long-term strategy to keep traceability at the forefront of everything we do.”
The leather desert boots that will feature in the 'Homespun' collection have been handmade by Rossi Boots in South Australia which has been in operation for 106 years.
The 'Homespun' collection will land in selected Jeanswest stores across Australia and online on Tuesday March 15.
Price points will range from $18.99-$169.99.
