Global retailer JD Sports has opened its largest store in Australia, at Bourke Street Mall in Melbourne.
The new store opened today and spans 1,631 square metres across two levels. Alongside being the largest JD Sports store in Australia, it is also the brand’s third global flagship opening in as many months this year.
The store features exclusive shop-in-shops from major global brands such as Nike, Adidas, New Balance, On and ASICS, two interactive product activation zones and the latest, globally designed and digital-based ‘Home of Air’ Nike shop-in-shop for footwear.
Opening-week highlights include special drops such as the latest JD-exclusive Nike Air Max 95s, Nike Shox, Adidas Sambas, Air Jordans, and the latest from ASICS and New Balance.
“We’re thrilled to bring JD’s latest global flagship experience to the heart of Melbourne,” head of APAC Hilton Seskin said. “As our store network continues to grow across Victoria and Australia, it’s vital that we deliver the elevated retail experiences our global audience has come to expect—particularly in iconic CBD locations like Bourke Street Mall.
“This new store represents the very best of JD worldwide, and we can’t wait for you to experience it.”
The flagship launch marks the latest milestone in JD Sports’ global growth strategy, reinforcing its commitment to delivering world-class shopping experiences for the next generation of sports and streetwear consumers.
Since the opening of its first store in the United Kingdom in 1981, JD Sports now has more than 4,500 stores across 36 countries, including 68 stores in Australia and five in New Zealand.
JD Sports is also set to open another retail location at Westfield Geelong next week.
